The Isle of Purbeck is famous for its spectacular scenery and wealth of wildlife. The walk begins in Studland, a small village hidden from the sea by copse woods and overlooked by a magnificent Norman church. From the village a woodland path leads to Godlingston Heath. The track over the heath rises to give wide views west over Poole Harbour and south to the chalk stacks and cliffs of the Isle of Wight, before heading for the Agglestone. You then follow an attractive path through a wooded valley before rejoining the outbound route to return to Studland.
This grade 1 walk in Footpaths for Fitness Dorset covers a distance of 4 miles, which will take you over moorland paths, with some gentle gradients. There is an estimated calorie burn of 450.
